ACTON, MA – The Discovery Museums announced its summer schedule of programs, closings, and free admission evenings throughout the summer:

The Science Discovery Museum building will close to the public on Saturday, June 17; the last day to experience this museum prior to its renovation is Friday, June 16. The building will be closed until early December 2017 for expansion and complete renovation.

The Children’s Discovery Museum and Discovery Woods will remain OPEN throughout this period of construction. And, this summer only, the museum will offer Game ON, a tented activity space filled with oversized yard games—including Yard Yahtzee, Giant Chess and Checkers, and Colossal Connect Four—along with classic tabletop board games. The Game ON tent opens June 26.

Summer Hours begin on June 20th: the Children’s Discovery Museum, Discovery Woods, and Game ON tent will be open 7 days per week. Hours are 9:00am to 4:30pm Saturday through Thursday, and 9:00am to 8:00pm on Fridays (with free admission 4:30 to 8:00pm).

Our summer of Free Friday Night Fun kicks off on Friday, June 23 and runs through Friday, September 1st. The museum will be open with free admission each Friday night from 4:30 to 8:00pm. On June 23 only, the museum will be open for free all day, from 9:00am to 8:00pm, as part of Highland Street Foundation’s Free Fun Friday program.

July 22 -- Treehouse Takeover! Grownups-only event in Discovery Woods

July 25 through July 29 – Exploring Madhubani Art

August 8 through August 12 – Fairyborough

August 29 through September 2 – Dirtopia!
