Discovery Museum strives to extend its reach

Founded in 1982, the nonprofit Discovery Museums in Acton is undergoing a transformation through an $8.4 million capital campaign. The planned improvements, which are estimated for completion next year, include expanding and uniting its Children’s Discovery and Science Discovery museums, improving accessibility of the exhibits, and developing the Discovery Woods nature playscape and treehouse, which opened this summer at the 4.5-acre property.
