Discovery Museum Welcomes Courtney Hanna Renkes to its Board of Directors
Acton, MA – Discovery Museum is pleased to welcome Courtney Hanna Renkes to its Board of Directors.
Courtney serves on the board of the TraRon Center, a Washington, DC nonprofit that supports those affected by gun violence to heal through the arts; she has also volunteered for the DC Volunteer Lawyer’s Project. She is a former civil litigator and held positions at Greenberg & Bederman, LLC, Regan Associates, and the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
Courtney holds a B.A. in Communications and Psychology from Boston College, studied International Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford, and earned a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.
Courtney resides in Brookline with her husband and three young children.

Originally founded in 1982 and expanded to two museums in 1987, the museum reopened in a single, 16,000sf accessible building after a complete renovation and expansion in early 2018. In 2024 Discovery Museum was awarded a National Medal for Museum Service from the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the nation’s highest honor awarded to museums that make “significant and exceptional contributions to their communities.”
