This is a public-facing position, with volunteers working directly with our child visitors and their caregivers. We look for volunteers who are outgoing and personable, enjoy working with children, work well with a team, are flexible and adaptable, and demonstrate attention to detail. Core Responsibilities:
- Welcome and engage visitors (both adults and children) with:
- Positive body language
- A courteous, respectful, and positive attitude
- Clean and safe exhibit spaces that are ready for the next visitor to experience
- PLAY! Know the exhibits and be ready to share that knowledge with visitors (ie. Fun tricks to try, how exhibits work, etc)
- Show initiative by stocking, tidying, resetting, suggesting ways to improve the visitor experience, and anticipating visitors’ and colleagues’ needs
- Attend all mandatory volunteer meetings and trainings
This volunteer position asks for a commitment of a minimum of one approximately 4-hour shift (morning or afternoon) per week.
A successful CORI check will be required at the time of offer.
